All-natural polish remover
By Olessa Pindak, senior beauty editor
I had almost given up on my quest for an eco-friendly polish remover that actually erases color when I discovered PeaceKeeper Eco-Easy Nail Polish Remover ($12; iamapeacekeeper.com). Made with natural fermented sugars, scented with rosemary and spearmint essential oils, and free of alcohol and acetone, it comes in an easy-to-recycle number two plastic bottle. After applying it and holding a cotton ball on my nail for ten seconds (to let the polish break down), I wiped it away and—violà—my nails were clean. My commitment to using this polish is made easier knowing that 100 percent of PeaceKeeper’s proceeds (from every single one of their products) goes to providing education and vocational training for poor and exploited women. Now my nails look good and I’m feeling good knowing that I’m not only caring for myself, but also helping women around the world.
