Obama's got a brand new bag

For the passionate Barack Obama supporters on my holiday list (two of my siblings did door-to-door canvassing in the days leading up to the election), I found the perfect “stocking stuffer”—the new Obama commemorative tote bag from Baggu ($10; baggubag.com). Sure enough, they got a real kick out of seeing our new president’s smiling face on the front and they appreciated the bag’s roominess—big enough to hold plenty of groceries.
Made of 100 percent rip-stop nylon and machine washable, the bag can be folded to fit into a 5 x 5 carrying pouch, so you can keep it handy in your backpack or purse. The full line of Baggu bags, plus the Limited Edition Obama bag, are the brainchild of the mother and daughter team Emily Sugihara, a Parsons graduate and former Proenza Schouler intern, and Joan Sugihara, a former art instructor at Princeton University (Michelle Obama’s alma mater). Proceeds from the sale of the Barack bag go toward repaying the Democratic National Committee campaign debt.
