Mint Lemonade

Top off your family picnic, or any festive summer occasion, with this easy, refreshing drink recipe.

3/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup loosely packed mint leaves, thick stems removed
1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
2 quarts ice-cold water
Mint sprigs, for garnishing


  1. 1. Make simple syrup: Combine 3/4 cup water and 3/4 cup sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring for about 1 minute or until sugar dissolves.
  2. 2.Remove simple syrup from the heat and stir in mint leaves. Let cool to room temperature then refrigerate 1 hour.
  3. 3. Strain out the mint and combine the simple syrup with lemon juice and cold water. Serve over ice garnished with mint sprigs.
