EarthPresents eco wrapping paper

By Adam Bible, research editor
I’m a huge procrastinator, and at no time during the year does this character flaw set me back more than at Christmas. I barely finish my shopping by Christmas Eve, and that night, I’m usually huddled upstairs furiously wrapping gifts while my family sits by the fire eating homemade cookies and drinking mulled wine.

But this year I’ve already bought—and wrapped—all of my presents. What could reform a serial procrastinator? I found a little eco motivation from EarthPresents’ new line of recycled wrapping paper, gift tags, bows, and ribbons ($2 to $6 each, earthpresents.com). Because I hate to waste paper, I usually reuse the old bows and gift wrap my mom has stashed at her house. This year though, EarthPresents sent me some samples of their products—all made from 100 percent recycled post-consumer content—and I couldn’t resist giving it a go. The paper and trimmings, which are as sturdy and easy-to-use as conventional products, feature lively decorations of reindeer, snowmen, and stars designed by special needs students at the WVSA ARTiculate gallery in Washington, D.C. Proceeds from sales benefit the children’s school—yet another reason to check out EarthPresents and get your wrapping done early.
