Shop for Good

Adidas has partnered with Right to Play, a children's charity that's promoting world peace through sport.

By Daniel Mazori
Adidas is making it easy to do good while you shop. The sports giant is selling $10 mini red soccer balls in stores and on its website (shopadidas.com) and donating all proceeds to Right to Play, a humanitarian organization founded by four-time Olympic gold medalist Johann Olav Koss, a speed skater from Norway. (The limited-edition balls will be available until all 275,000 of them sell out.) Using organized sports and activities such as tag and limbo, Right to Play volunteers teach conflict resolution and leadership skills to children living in refugee camps and other war-torn areas in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. The Adidas ball is a replica of the full-sized one Right to Play uses in the 23 countries where it works; both are printed with Right to Play's motto, "Look after yourself, look after one another." Use the mini red ball to play with your family and friends, knowing that somewhere in the world another red ball is making kids in a troubled country a little safer.
