Grow Your Own Fruits, Vegetables & Herbs

Sow seeds indoors in a small pot. When two or three leaves have grown, transfer 12 inches deep in a large pot. If you're planting outside, make sure temperatures at night don't dip below 55 degrees. Fertilize immediately, keep warm, and water often. Look for "determinate" tomatoes, which stop growing at a certain height and don't need supportive stakes.
