Pool Practice

Savasana Relaxation
Tones the abs and soothes
the senses.
While floating on your back, bring your knees over the edge of the pool so your head points to the middle and your calves rest on the pool’s edge. Allow your arms to stretch out at your sides and “imagine you are a bed of seaweed floating in the ocean,” Rea says. Close your eyes and allow your torso to slowly sway while you float.
Take it to the mat: The sounds and sensations of floating in a pool cultivate calmness. “Floating is quieting to your whole body and to all your senses,” says Rea. “If you don’t have access to a pool edge, floating on any calm body of water does the trick.”
