A few months ago, I called in a neti pot (a classic remedy for clogged sinuses) from The Himalayan Institute for a photo shoot, and the company threw in samples of curious little inhalers called Neti Stiks ($5 each; himalayaninstitute.org). A cousin of the neti pot, the Neti Stik is a compact, portable alternative. You insert the tip into one nostril, inhale deeply, then switch sides. The blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, menthol, and lavender oil immediately cleared my head and gave me a shot of energy. When I use it at work, I even notice that my shoulders relax. Now everyone in the art department is a convert. Our creative director used hers during a recent photo shoot to help combat jet lag, and it worked so well, she convinced the entire crew (photographer included) to get Neti Stiks of their own.
