For me, there are two types of smoothies: those with greens and those without. Greens are superb. Throwing fresh kale leaves or super green powder into a smoothie definitely enhances it’s nutrient value and offers a lovely verdant hue.
However, there are those times when I just don’t feel like having the earthy grassiness of greens. It’s then that I create more decadent smoothies, some even reminiscent of a milkshake.
On a day when greens just won’t satisfy, try this Black Sesame Smoothie: it’s luxurious, creamy and different, offering lots of calcium and filling satisfaction. And when you’re feeling more virtuous, wanting the antioxidant and mineral strength of greens, or if you simply want something lighter, try Kale Lemonade. It’s a perfect green thirst quencher for the upcoming summer days!
