Kale Lemonade

This smoothie keeps well when strained and is a good one to make a few hours ahead in preparation for a sunny afternoon.

Ingredients

3 large kale leaves, thick center rib removed
1 red apple, chopped (and peeled if desired)
Juice of 2 lemons
3/4 - 1 cup filtered water
3 drops Young Living Essential Oil of Lemon*

Serves 1. Per serving: 210 calories, 2 g fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 7 g protein, 46 g carbohydrates, 9 g fiber, 100 mg sodium.

Directions

Blend all ingredients and add more lemon juice or water to your taste. For the kids I strain this one so it's less chewy and fibrous. The adults should take advantage of all the fiber and enjoy as is.
