Music can affect how you feel, and therefore, how you look. That’s because it triggers reactions in the brain that affect hormones, neurotransmitters and brain wave frequencies, which can alter your focus and mood, says New York City-based Galina Mindlin, M.D., Ph.D., founder of Brain Music Therapy and one of the authors of Your Playlist Can Change Your Life (Sourcebooks). Perhaps best of all, the right songs can help lull you to sleep for a full eight hours of beauty rest.
